GAD on value adding in Cebu

Tagbilaran City, Bohol. The Agricultural Training Institute Region 7 (ATI 7) is scheduled to conduct another gender and development related training. The Gender – based Training on Value Adding and Marketing for Processed Vegetables will be held on August 15-17, 2017 at ATICEMCO, M. Velez St., Guadalupe, Cebu City.

This is a 3-day free training which targets the extension workers on high-value crops, members of Rural Improvements Clubs (RIC) and senior high school teacher-in-charge from selected cities and municipalities from the provinces of Cebu and Negros Oriental. The objective of this activity is to equip participants with concepts of basic fruit and vegetable processing technology and hands-on experience in making selected fruit and vegetable-based food products.

Based on the training design, at least 30 participants are expected to engage in participatory discussions, work group activities with method demonstration and action planning. Module on enterprise development, marketing and innovations will be shared with the participants to develop and improve food products in their respective municipalities and come up with a marketing strategy to generate income.
