ATI 7 joins 2017 NWMC

Diliman, Quezon City. Celebrating with the whole nation for the 2017 National Women’s Month, the Agricultural Training Institute Central Office in Quezon City organized a 3-day activity entitled “Symposium of Women in Farming” with the theme “Honouring the Trailblazing Women in Agricultural Enterprise” last March 1-3, 2017 at ATI Building, Elliptical Rd., Diliman, Quezon City.

Highlights of the event were display of products from different regions, break-out sessions of different agri-processing technology and an educational journey to the farm of the “Seedling Queen in Luzon” Duran Farm, Bulacan. Participants enjoyed every activity and were optimistic that the learnings they have will be applied to their respective farms and businesses.

Women from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao who excelled in farming and agri-business participated in the said symposium. Participants from Region VII were, Mrs. Irenea Ordinario of Antequera, Bohol, Mrs. Florenda Villamor of Alegria, Cebu and Mrs. Judith Yap of Lazi, Siquijor, with ATI-RTC 7 gender and development focal and alternate focal person Ms. Ma. Gracia Soliva-Pungay and Reynadez M. Lim joined the delegation. These women brought with them their products including potted herbs and spices, malunggay and turmeric tea and powder, banana chips, squash noodles and many more. Walk-in customers and staff of nearby offices dropped by and enjoyed the variance of healthy and affordable products of hardworking Rural Improvement Clubs of women from all over the country.
