4Hers undergo Healthy Farming Operations and Management Training

Mr. Reyland Jabonillo explained the importance of RA10068 among young participants

”Agriculture is the most healthful, most useful and most noble employment of man”, a borrowed line from George Washington, an American politician and soldier who served as the first President of the United States.

The Agricultural Training Institute in Central Visayas conducted last April 24-26, 2017 the Capability Enhancement Training for 4-Her's cum Healthy Farming Operations and Management Systems at Binhi sa Panginabuhian Demo Farm, Bayacabac, Maribojoc, Bohol with the objectives of discussing every aspect of the Organic/Natural Farming Biblical Background as well as the input-preparation and Republic Act 10068 otherwise known as the Organic Act of 2010.

Thirty-two participants composed of Agricultural Extension Workers and 4Hers from the provinces of Bohol and Siquijor actively completed the activity and they were overwhelmed with their learning that include: the techniques on how to establish a fruitful and sustainable organic farm; gained ideas in formulating customized feeds in which the ingredients are affordable and easy to prepare that make the animals healthy and safe for the consumer; appreciated the importance of organic farming to the farmers; that both animal and plans should be given extra care, love and attention; organic farming is one of the best way to eliminate climate change, gives job opportunity, a friendly recreation, gives sustainable consumption of foods and preserving mother nature; that farming is not a boring passion to do because it is very enjoyable and an interesting profession and it enabled to embrace the nature of being an agriculturist and maintain nature that God shared upon us.

Providing lecture and hands-on activity is Mr. Reyland P. Jabonillo of Binhi sa Panginabuhian Demonstration Farm in Maribojoc, Bohol while Lydia B. Borbano, ATI-RTC 7’s Senior Agriculturist as the project officer.

what our clients say...

“I am so blessed to have been a part of this training. As the memorandum has been circulated to our school; i had this feeling of uncertainty whether i will be able to produce the desired output because i had a zero knowledge on IEC production. Since, our school is one of the recipient of the adopt-a-school program and being the teacher in-charged; i did not hesitate to participate in this training because for me, this will help us in designing our advocacy materials especially that our school is among that will offer senior high school. With my participation, my expectation wasn't futile since ATI-RTC 7 equipped us not just on the material things that we need but on the knowledge and skills that we can apply. To ATI, thank you so much, more power and more collaborations from you. To my co-participants who are very supportive and very participative, until next time.”
