Capacity Building on Agri-Business and Cooperative Enterprise Development Held in Victorias

Victorias City -- Sangguniang Bayan Member Jan Jan Aguilar, of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, addresses the participants during the Opening Ceremony. SB Aguilar thru the MA Office was the proponent of the training. He was very grateful to ATI for providing the Food and training supplies during the said activity. He said it was his first time to have sourced some funds from other agency through a proposal crafted by his team. He told the participants to take the opportunity (the training) to be informed, reformed and ultimately transformed into agri-preneur.

Antique AgriPinoy Provincial TOT opens

San Jose, Antique.  More than 30 agriculture stakeholders in the province of Antique braved the rains on July 5 to attend the Provincial Training of Trainers on AgriPinoy.  A good mix of participants from the LGU agriculture offices, farmer leaders, Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs) and NGOs was gathered before the formal start of the training.   In the Opening Programme, Antique Vice Governor Rosie Dimamay appreciated the active involvement of the non-government agencies and private sectors, particularly the farmers themselves in uplifting the province from its pres

322 graduate from SOA Palayamanan: Organic Vegetable Production

Roxas City.  A total of 322 farmers from the seventeen municipalities of Capiz received their Certificates of Training as graduates of the School on the Air (SOA) Palayamanan: Organic Vegetable Production last April 16. The morning programme held at the Villareal Stadium was the front event in the Farmers’ Day Celebration of the Capiztahan festivities for the 100th foundation year of the province.

Alcala captivates Capiz farmers and vice-versa

Sec. Alcala presents awards to SOA Achievers

Roxas City.  DA Secretary Proceso J. Alcala together with Gov. Victor A. Tanco and ATI-RTC 6 Center Director Allan Alimodian presented the  SOA Achievement Awards to deserving SOA Palayamanan: Organic Vegetable Production graduates during the main program of the Capiz Farmers’ Day last April 16 at the Villareal Stadium . The awarding was the culmination of the Graduation Ceremony held in the morning of the same day for 322 farmers from the seventeen municipalities of Capiz.

San Dionisio Commits to FSTP

The San Dionisio LGU led by Mayor Larry C. Villanueva expressed commitment to the Corn-based Farmer Scientist RDE Training Program (FSTP) for Sustainable Agricultural Development in a Launching Ceremony held at Barangay Cudionan, San Dionisio last March 4, 2011. The affair was graced by Program Leader Dr. Romulo G. Davide and FSTP staff Tony Arnejo of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños. Dr. Davide gave a thorough and inspiring presentation of the FSTP as he shared experiences of the farmers in Argao, Cebu where the program was first implemented.

4H achievers, farmer entrepreneur share learnings

Federation President Vianney Ojerio, Pagaypay Barangay Captain Ricky Sulpico and farmer-entrepreneur Ramon Peñalosa graciously shared learnings and nuggets of wisdom to the participants of the Western Visayas 4H Regional Achievement and Recognition Day last February 26 and 27, 2011. Vianney Ojerio was a member of the Philippine delegation to 2011 International 4H Youth Camp held at Korea last February. He shared the various strategies of the 4H organizations in different countries.

ILOILO CITY - The Western Visayas 4H Federation  opened  the Regional Achievement  and Recognition Day  in simple rites as the nation celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. Fittingly, the confab’s theme is “Empowering 4H Club members towards sustainable development”. 

NIPSC-Batad Agriculture Students and Staff Join e-Extension

More than 40 NIPSC-Batad agriculture students and staff registered at the e-Extension site during the briefing and hands-on conducted by the ATI-RTC 6 and FITS Batad  last February 10, 2011. The activity held at the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC), Batad Campus sought to encourage the faculty and students of the school to supplement their academic activities with the resources being offered by e-Extension. It is the first briefing held by ATI-RTC6 for Iloilo Agriculture SUCs and starts off the e-extension advocacy activities for the year.
