To further enhance access to Agriculture and Fishery Knowledge Products and Services, ATI RTC 6 launched its e-Learning Lounge. Equipped with tablets and netbooks, the lounge will cater all clients who are in need of information on agriculture and fishery. Primarily, it will promote access to e-Learning, one of the component of electronic extension (e-Extension) service of ATI.

ATI’s e-learning program offers different learning components such as free online courses, downloadable technokits and agri-videos. The online courses include modules on crops, livestock and poultry, fisheries, sustainable agriculture and social technology. The lounge is open to all clients who wish to avail of free e-learning courses and other online information in agriculture. Likewise, the Center’s mini library is also open for researchers especially to students.

Dr. Danilo E. Abayon, Aklan State University President, led the cutting of the ribbon together with Dr. Eden DLR. Bautista and Dr. Nelson Cuaresma. As a sign of a never ending support to ATI’s program and advocacies, Dr. Abayon reiterated the donation of one (1) hectare land near the ATI Training Hall where the Center’s new office building will soon be constructed. “I am looking forward for that expansion of ATI’s new building soon because I do believe that ATI can serve more clients if it is already situated near the ASU gate.” Dr. Abayon said.

Other guests who witnessed the activity were the Farmer’s Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center Managers and staff who were invited to attend the FITS Enhancement Orientation thru RCM program.

The e-Learning lounge launching held on January 13, 2017 is one of the initial activities conducted by ATI-RTC 6 to foster greater service in extension among the Center’s partners.

Spearheaded by the Center Training Center Superintendent II, Dr. Eden DLR. Bautista, the e-Learning lounge launching and operation was made possible thru the effort of the Center’s Information and Services Section headed by Ms.Nicolasita G. Gallego./DGHB//ISS
