ATI-RTC 6 launched FITS Center in Culasi, Antique
Some 100 farmers and fishersfolks witnessed the launching of the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in the Municipality of Culasi, Antique. FITS Center is a one-stop service facility that will provide the clients quick access to information and technology services. The Center is equipped with laptops/netbooks and internet connections so that clients will have access to global information through the DA-ATI websites. Likewise, IEC materials both printed and in various multi-media formats were made available in the Center.
“This Center will help you to have ready access on information especially on new technologies that could increase your production with less expense on inputs. Just don’t be shy to visit our FITS Center and ask for the assistance of our technicians for whatever information you need”, says Hon. Mayor Jose Jeffrey Y. Lomugdang in his message of support during the launching.
Mr. Mavillo Villorente, ATI-RTC 6 Senior Agriculturist representing Training Center Superintendent II Dr. Eden DLR. Bautista awarded the check worth One Hundred Thousand (100,000.00) as funding support for the first year of operation of the Center. Likewise, he thanked the farmers and fisherfolks present for being part of the producing sector who feed the municipality and even the Province of Antique.
The Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center of Culasi, Antique was the first FITS Center established in the Province of Antique since the turn-over of Techno Gabay Program from Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) to Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
The launching activity was held at Culasi Municipal Town Hall, Culasi, Antique on January 24, 2016.
