Kapatid Agri-Mentor Me Program launches in Region 02

TUGUEGARAO CITY. The Department of Agriculture (DA) launched the Kapatid Agri-Mentor Me Program (KAMMP) in Region 02 last July 31, 2017 at the DA-Cagayan Valley Integrated Agricultural Laboratory (DA-CVIAL) in Tuguegarao City.
The event was organized by the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 02 and DA-Regional Field Office 02 in partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Entrepreneurs (PCE) Go Negosyo.
The KAMMP is a coaching-mentoring program ‘designed to optimize agricultural industry clustering and market linkages to achieve development.’
“You will be thought on producing business plan of your own. Our Go Negosyo experts coach and mentor you the various techniques and strategies on how to become successful agri-entrepreneurs. They will share their knowledge on what are the values and mindsets that are needed to operate a sustained agri-entreprenuer,” DA Director Clarito M. Barron said.
The program is the outcome of the Memorandum of Agreement forged by Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol and PCE Go Negosyo Founder Jose Ma. Concepcion III last April 6.
At least 200 agri-prenuers from farmers’ organizations, cooperatives, and local government units of Region 02 attended the launching program.
“This program is very timely… and I believe that this event will is contributory in developing awareness and advocacy towards a long-term sustainable agricultural sector,” DA-RFO 02 Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Operations Robert B. Olinares said.
“The skills that they will teach us will empower us to become a globally competitive agri-preneur,” added Ms. Imelda M. Guillermo, ATI-RTC 02 Training Center Superintendent I.
Two modules were immediately shared by Mr. Ranilo M. Maderazo right after the opening program. Mr. Maderazo discussed the Entrepreneurial Mind Setting and Values Formation, and Marketing.
Two agri-preneur shared also their experiences in their ventures. They shared the importance of a strong partnership between them—the producers, and all the key players in the supply chain.
After the launching, three batches of a two-day mentoring program will be conducted for agri-preneurs. These will be held on August 1-2 and August 21-22 at ATI-RTC 02 San Mateo Center, San Mateo, Isabela; and the third batch is on September 7-8 at ATI-RTC 02 Cabagan Center, Cabagan, Isabela.
