4H Member Won the Gawad Saka Search for Outstanding Young Farmer Regional Level

ANGADANAN, Isabela. Winning the Gawad Saka search for the outstanding young farmer in the regional level is one of the biggest achievement of Mr. Christian Valdez of Angadanan, Isabela. After seven years of being hands-on on their field helping his parents, their unproductive farm now became a diversified farm.

Becoming a farmer to Valdez was just by change and later on became his choice of staying in the farm. He is a member of the 4H club since 2014 and became the president in the municipal chapter. He actively joined all 4H activities conducted in the municipality up to the regional level. He also participated on the adopt-a-youth program of ATI-RTC 02 wherein he was deployed in a successful farm and acquired field experiences, which he applied in their farm. Their integrated farm gave his family bigger income.

Mr. Valdez is an out-of-school youth but later on graduated in high school through the alternative learning system. He is now planning to enroll in college this coming school year taking agriculture course.

Mr. Valdez will be documented for the Gawad Saka search national level this May.
