Alaska attending the second batch on July 23-27, 2012.  The said five-day training was conducted at Bayview Park Hotel, Manila.

With a theme “Unlocking the Secret to a Breakthrough Video Documentation on Agriculture”, tips on scriptwriting, basics of video production and principles of video editing were taught.  During the scriptwriting module, practicum on conducting interviews was done to apply the tips given by the resource person.  The five groups were instructed to interview bystanders, taxi driver, security guards, waiter and vendor.  After the practicum, the outputs were presented in raw to assess if the tips taught were applied.  Comments were given by the resource person to improve the output.  On the basics of video production and video editing, the use of different instruments in video coverage was demonstrated especially in the angles of shooting and the importance of light to focus the subject.  A video tutorial on the use of Edius 6 as the software in editing video was also presented.
As an output during the training, the five groups in each batch were given different activities of ITCPH for video production.  In each group, different tasks were assigned such as researcher and writer, one or two videographer/s, producer and director.  The group will be going to the ITCPH for conducting interview and video coverage and will be edited for critiquing on the last day.

The training is very much useful in all centers since it will help staff produce quality video of good agricultural practices and other center activities.  However, high quality videocam with complete accessories, computer set and software for editing is needed to apply the learnings from the training.
