4H convened for a 4H first quarter meeting

San Mateo, Isabela. For the 4H clubs to be updated on the scheduled activities for this year, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) convened the Regional and Provincial 4H Club Officers for a first quarter meeting last February 26, 2011 at ATI-RTC, San Mateo, Isabela. 
During the opening program, the ATI-RTC Center Director, Mr. Renato A. Maguigad challenged them to be more active and committed to the club and he promised them that they will be one of the priorities in the 4H program such as the scholarship, trainings and other assistance.
 
The group able to have updates on the 4H Youth Development Program through the 4H Focal Person, Ms. Natividad C. Oandasan. According to her, there is a new strategy under the 4H program called Adopt a 4-Achers Program. It will be introduced to every province wherein the 4H will have a practicum for one to two weeks afterwhich, they will prepare an action plan and proposal for funding. With this, it will be assured that the fund that will be released to them will be efficiently.
 
Following the formal business meeting, Mr. Lord Francis Vergara, the president presided the meeting proper.  He presented the agenda for approval which include the activities of the National 4H Club Federation, travel report on the winter camp in Korea, 4H plan of activities, presentation of accomplishment by province, management of roll-over scheme of the 4H Livelihood Project Fund and opening of bank account.
 
During the discussion, it was agreed to continue the data gathering of the 4-H profile, prepare and assess the project proposals for financial assistance to qualified 4-H Clubs, finalize training design for the conduct of nine (9) trainings for the 4-H Municipal Coordinators, Officers and Members. Since the program is already two years, it is advised to start documenting success stories of the 4-H Clubs. The officers were also advised to intensify advocacy campaign to motivate more youth in joining the 4-H Club. The ATI-RTC will also prepare curriculum design for the implementation of ladderize trainings and the group also planned to develop website for the 4H. 
 
For the winter camp in Korea which was attended by Mr. Lord Francis vergara, he was able to change his lifestyle especially in managing his time.  He said that he must be more time conscious now and more disciplined.  Also, he was challenged on the products exhibited during the camp are really products made by the 4H. He said they are vey creative and he hope in his leadership, it will be followed by them.
