 For Christian Valdez, becoming a farmer was by chance but staying in the farm was his choice. In 2010, Christian became hands-on on their three-hectare farm when his father became an active village leader in the forest region of Angadanan, Isabela. During this time, Christian was not studying, thus he had no choice but to help his parents in farming.

Joselito ‘Joel’  Cabanayan, a Farmer Led Extensionist of Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya, was inspired by his father-in-law to engage in farming. “Na-challenge ako sa biyenan ko dahil outstanding corn farmer siya,” Joel revealed. “Filipino farmers is not a dying breed,” he said, as he talked with his fellow out-of-school youths during their meeting to encourage them.

He did not finish a course in agriculture, but he fulfilled his dream of becoming an agriculturist by practice.
