e-Extension ProgramDepartment Order No. 03 series of 2007 designates the Agricultural Training Institute as lead agency in the provision of e-extension services in collaboration with the various agencies, bureaus and organizational units of the DA.This is to integrate and harmonize ICT-based extension delivery system for agriculture and fisheries. It aims to attain a revolutionized agriculture and fisheries e-extension services for self-reliant and globally competitive communities.Major Components 1. e-LearningThe online learning place for agri-fisheries technologies and marketing. The program offers certificate courses designed for agricultural extension workers, farmers and fishers. The courses are developed in collaboration with subject matter specialists from the different participating agencies like Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Council on Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCARRD), Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), state colleges and universities and the ATI Regional Training Centers.The e-Learning courses are delivered via online and blended approaches which integrate field activities and face to face interaction between learners and experts. Learners will also have the opportunity to interact through online discussion fora and will have an access to a wide array of digital resources to enhance their knowledge on the e-learning courses as well as other relevant agricultural information which will help in making the right decisions in their farms.The following are the courses now offered on line developed by different RTCs and other collaborating agencies: 1. Citrus Growing: A Promising Enterprise 2. Corn Production: From Seed to Seed 3. Eradicating Common Diseases of Banana 4. Growing Durian the Better Way 5. Establisihing A Slaughter Goat EnterpriseThese eLearning courses will be administered through the eLearning offices located at the ATI Training Centers. Come! enrol in our online courses for free. You may also visit our offices at Cabagan and San Mateo and you may use our interneted connected computers in our elearning office.Additional online courses will be offered soon. Other services will likewise be offered through the e-Learning Portal such as mini-tutorials, online ordering of IEC materials, and experts’ knowledgebase.2. e-FarmingThis component features the electronic delivery of farm and business advisory services. The services include the technical advisory services on agriculture and fisheries technologies, technical assistance to rural-based organizaitons and agri-entrepreneurial helpdesk. It will also facilitate information exchange among the traders and investors in the agriculture and fisheries sector.3. e-TradingThis service comprises online trading as well as provision of information such as market trends, investments, market prices, inventory/list of producers and suppliers, micro-finacing services and agricultural marketing services. Initially, the services are available through the PhilAgribiz Centers of the Department of Agriculture.
