(Tier 2 Extension Support to the 22 priority Poorest Provinces of the Philippines)

 The Project Tier 2- Extension Support to the 22 Poorest Provinces in the Philippines (T2-ES22PPP) in Region XII kicked off with series of provincial consultations facilitated by the Center among the three provinces covered under the project – Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and North Cotabato.  The provincial consultations made were the initial stage of its implementation.  This was followed immediately by the capability building for frontline stakeholders, the AEWs, who will help facilitate the implementation processes. 
The capability building entitled TOT on Community Organizing and Social Mobilization (Batch 1) was conducted last July 11-14, 2017 in order to capacitate and prepare the AEWs to be involved in the formation of the beneficiaries in achieving a common goal of enhancing their livelihood to increase food security and decrease poverty in their area. 
The training has specific objectives to enhance the AEW’s knowledge and skills of participation on: interpretation and analysis of data from conducted survey to formulate the best possible intervention for the community; vision setting; organizing the community and determine responsibility with vision stakeholders; setting the direction of the project to achieve synergy and convergence; approaches and strategies in social mobilization.
The activity was attended by a mixture of 47 Agricultural Technologists (ATs) and Provincial Project Coordinators from the said provinces.  It was held in ATI-XII Regional Training Center in Tantangan, South Cotabato and was led by Ms Alicia Rose D. Nebreja, TCS I.
