4-H’ers Champion The Cooking Contest

       Two of Region X’s 4-H Club provincial officers bagged the First Prize of the two categories of the cooking contest conducted by the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10). MR. SANNY DARAMAN, 4-H Club Provincial President of Camiguin, got the Best Vegetable Salad for the Highland Vegetable based Category, while MR. ALJON D. ARBONIDA Vice President for Misamiis Oriental won the first prize for DUCK MEAT Recipe under the livestock based category.
       The Cooking Demonstration Contest showcased the different cooking strategies and the use of different ingredients of the four commodity base: poultry, highland vegetable, cassava and adlay. The activity was the third day of the Farmers and Fisherfolks Month culmination of DA-RFO X from May 29 to 31, 2017, held at Chali Beach, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
      Both Mr. Arbonida and Mr. Daraman also got the second and fourth place respectively in the adlay cooking category. Among the other 4-Hers who joined the contest were Jule Nicole Enriquez ( 2nd Place, Poultry Based), Jose Gipulao, Jr. ( 3rd place Highland vegetable based) and Anle Sam Neri( 3rd place cassava based), all of Cagayan de Oro City 4-H Club.
      Contest prizes include cash prize of 5,000, 4,000 and 3,000 for the first, second and third prize winners with plaque of recognition, and 1,000 cash each for none winning participants.
