Harmonization towards unification
San Fernando City, La Union - The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) and the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I) jointly conducted the harmonization workshop of 2017 Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) of the region last March 3, 2017 at DA-RFO I Conference Hall, San Fernando City, La Union.
The activity aimed to promote synergy and unity in the implementation of the PPAs; avoid duplication of activities, beneficiaries, coverage and schedule of activities to achieve efficiency and productivity; and complement extension and training services for greater impact in the whole community of Region I.
Among the activities undertaken include the following: a) adjustments of schedule; b) change of coverage area, c) modification of title of activities, d) unification of modules; and d) integration of similar targets of the banner programs.
Further, agreements were made as to the updating of pool of experts and facilities to maximize the use of human and physical resources; data basing of AEWs and farmers who have attended trainings to have an outright data when identifying beneficiaries as well as to avoid inviting the same participants; and, harmonization workshop every semester to sustain collaboration among the two agencies.
The workshop was participated in by the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED) of DA-RFO I and the PME Unit of ATI-RTC 1; the DA Program Banner Coordinators and ATI Focal persons on Rice, Corn, High Value Commercial Crops, Livestock, Organic Agriculture, and Information Services.
The workshop was spearheaded by TCS II Rogelio C. Evangelista, DPA together with TCS I Melinda Mangabat, Ph.D. of ATI-RTC I with the Chief of DA-RFO I Planning Division, Ms. Doris C. Garcia.
