SAN MATEO, Rizal – Some 3,000 local coconut farmers are set to undergo extensive capability-enhancement activities to address the increasing poverty rate among coconut farming communities.
 
This initiative is through the Sustainable Certified Coconut Oil (SCNO), under Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s develoPPP.de programme. Hence, Filipino farmers involved in coconut production can look forward to increased income through a sustainable certified coconut oil supply chain.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) recently welcomed newly appointed Director III Alfredo Aton, MPS-DM as its Officer-in-Charge Director.

Seen in photo with other new appointees of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Aton (second from right) has been in government service for more than 20 years. Prior to this appointment, Aton served as a Management and Audit Analyst in the Office of the Provincial Governor of North Cotabato for almost 18 years.
