DAVAO CITY – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) as the training and extension arm of the Department of Agriculture (DA) has been one of the few institutions who practices Knowledge Management (KM) for its various programs and services. Tasked to document and record the latest developments in agricultural research and the good agricultural practices and sharing these knowledge to the farmers and fishers, KM has been very effective for ATI.

MALAY, Aklan - Bearing the theme "Organikong Pagsasaka tungo sa Malusog na Mamamayan at Kaaya-ayang Kalikasan", the League of the Municipal Agricultural Officers, Municipal/City Agriculturists of the Philippines, Inc. (LeMMCAP) recently gathered for their 12th National Convention.  The event has also become a venue for them to reinforce their vision and mission towards enhancing individual capabilities in carrying out their tasks towards agro-fishery development and promotion of organic agriculture nationwide.

MABUA, Surigao City – The Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has been conducting a nationwide Training of Trainers (ToTs) on PalayCheck System for agricultural extension workers since 2009. After three years of program implementation, ATI deemed it necessary to study the adoption rate of the technology among its intended users.

DILIMAN, Quezon City – As part of the requirements to finish their curriculum, agriculture scholars from Benguet and in Negros Oriental have enrolled and finished their e-Learning courses being offered by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) under the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries.

The 27 scholars are currently enrolled in MFI Farm Business Institute taking Diploma course in Agriculture Entrepreneurship. They are set to graduate this October 2012 after completing their two-year curriculum.

LANANG, Davao City --- One of the priorities of the Department of Agriculture (DA) is to recognize and encourage the participation of rural women in the various programs that lead to agricultural advancement.  As the lead convenor and national secretariat of the rural-based organizations (RBOs) in the Philippines, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has been supporting the Rural Improvement Clubs of the Philippines (RIC) as its active partner towards this thrust for the past 77 years.

Giving importance to these people is a well deserved accord and therefore, recognizing and showing appreciation and respect is one way for the Philippine government to move forward in terms of unity and likewise, drawing these people`s interest in furthering their knowledge on agriculture to sustain and improve their livelihood.
