e-Learning Courseware Developer and EHRDP Scholar Awarded for Excellent Poster at the 6th ICERD held in Bohol

6th ICERD Excellent Poster Awardees 2015

BOHOL -- e-Learning Courseware Developer Dr. Merrian P. Soliva has been recently awarded for Excellent Poster during the 6th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development (ICERD). Dr. Soliva is one of the six awardees for the poster presentation competition representing Philippines, while the other winners came from Cambodia, Japan, Thailand, and Lao PDR.

Dr. Soliva's poster presentation is in relation to her dissertation entitled "Determinants of Learners' Intention to Continue Using the e-Learning Program of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)."

The poster presentation competition for the 6th ICERD was participated in by contenders also coming from Bosnia, Herzegovina, Thailand and Myanmar. A total of 90 entries has been accepted for the different categories such as Education for Sustainable Development, Rural Development, Environmental Management, Agricultural Systems, and Infrastructural and Information Systems.

The awarding ceremony took place during the conference held last March 7-8, 2015 at Bohol Island State University, Philippines.

Dr. Soliva is also a coordinator for the ATI's knowledge management initiatives based at the ATI - Regional Training Center VII and a scholar of the ATI's Expanded Human Resource Development Program when she took up her doctoral degree on agricultural education. As e-learning courseware developer, Dr. Soliva developed the courses 'Yummy Yam: Online Course on Ubi Production' and the 'Online Course on Urban Gardening'.
