2nd Batch Scholars Earn Masters Degree in Public Management
QUEZON CITY – A second batch of scholars from the various units of the Department of Agriculture (DA) successfully completed their Masters degree in Public Management, Major in Rural Development (MPM-RD) from the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). This said batch produced nine graduates namely: Fabian S. Aldiano of DA-Regional Field Office (RFO) VIII; Yvette T. Avellaneda, Hannibal P. Bayo-ang, Cherry Vic R. Cadiz, Victorino Z. Guillermo, Ruth B. Omandam, and Marie Mercedita J. Pascual of DA-RFO IX; Joyce Bengo of the DA Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS); and Manuel J. Cortina of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. (PCIC)-X.
Ms. Joyce Bengo was the Class Valedictorian and likewise part of the group who received the best Rural Development Action Plan & Project (RDAPP) on “Responding to the Developing Rurban (Rural Urban) Markets: Agenda for the Three (3) Cooperatives in NAIC Agrarian Reform Community (ARC)”.
MPM-RD is a double-badge degree granted by DAP and the Ateneo School of Government under the scholarship program of the National Convergence Initiative (NCI) Program of the DA, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). It is an 18-month course that employs blended learning approach that intermixes traditional face-to-face classroom with online learning.
ATI, as the designated agency for the scholarship program, is now accepting applications for the third batch which will start in June 2015. Application is now on-going and the deadline for submission of requirements is on May 15, 2015.
