Name Your Rice Extensionist Contest Deadline Extended

Name Your Rice Extensionist

In its pursuit to develop a new breed of extension workers whose specialization is on rice production technologies, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) came up with a naming contest that will be referred to the new rice extensionists.
The contest is calling for entries that must capture the essence of the new breed of rice extensionists -- "a development catalyst who is competent in science-based and locally-appropriate strategies for managing and adapting rice-based farming systems toward competitiveness, sustainability and resilience", or the IPaD Project.
Sponsored by the Philippine Department of Agriculture through PhilRice and ATI together with IRRI, the naming contest is part of the project "Improving Technology Promotion and Delivery through Capability Enhancement of the Next-Gen of Rice Extension Professionals and Other Intermediaries."
The Contest is open to Filipinos, 18 years old and above and residing in the Philippines. The deadline has been extended until July 25, 2014.
