ATI's Telemagazine Series on Organic Agriculture Underway

Telemagazine on Organic Agriculture

DILIMAN, Quezon City – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is currently producing a Telemagazine that features selected Organic Agriculture (OA) practitioners in the country. Aside from promoting the best practices of OA, the Telemagazine aims to capacitate individuals and improve the understanding and application of principles and best practices among the existing organic farmer practitioners.

The Telemagazine will feature a series of magazine-type videos in the ATI interactive website and eExtension Youtube page. The first installment of the telemagazine on OA highlights the farms and practices of Pat Acosta and Felix Tan in La Trinidad, Benguet. Specifically, the Master’s Garden and Pamamaraan sa Organikong Pagsasaka of Acosta, and the Garden of Life and Working with Nature principles of Tan.

In the pipeline are the stories of Pam Henares and their Buro-Buro Springs Vermi Farm in Talisay City, Negros Occidental; Dr. Albert Jo and his Rapha Valley Organic Farm in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental; and urban farming practices and aquaponics technology of Liezl Jose in Quezon City. These videos are scheduled to be released early next year (FY 2015).

The production of the telemagazine series is being conducted by Institute’s Information Services Division and Regional Training Center in Bicol (ATI RTC-V) in collaboration with other ATI training centers as well.
