ATI Holds National Consultation and Networking on Rural-based Organizations

 DILIMAN, Quezon City--- "Reach out to people in the hinterlands and uplands who are deprived of almost all comforts in life, go where few dare go and with God`s grace you will make a big difference in your organizations", urged Agricultural Training Institute Director Asterio P. Saliot to the participants of the National Consultation and Networking for Rural-based Organizations (RBOs) held recently. 
 
Around 46 delegates came to the activity which composed of regional coordinators from the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Offices (DA-RFOs), representatives from 4-H Club organizations, farmers' organization like Pambansang Mananalon, Maguuma, Magbabaul, Magsasaka ng Pilipinas (P4MP), Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC), Volunteer Leaders` Association of the Philippines (VLAP), Magsasaka-Siyentista (MS) , International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) national presidents and its representatives, and the focal persons from the ATI Regional Training Centers. Also present in the activity  were Mayor Loreto T. Yu of Tacloban City and Congresswoman Lilia M. Nuño of Zamboanga City. 
 
The activity aimed to set up a work plan and counterparting schemes of the upcoming national conventions this year; review the 2014 plans and directions for RBOs; determine areas of concerns that needs immediate actions; as well as evaluate and assess the conduct of the previous year's national conventions.
 
The three-day event was held at ATI Serrano Hall last February 11 to 13, 2014.
