DA-ATI, CITEM Meet for IFEX Philippines

IFEXDILIMAN, Quezon City -- The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Department of Trade and Industry, recently initiated an orientation meeting for the upcoming International Food Exhibition (IFEX) slated in May 2013 and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) was one of the invited institutions together with other bureaus, attached agencies and corporations of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

CITEM is committed to create and nurture a pool of globally competitive exporters and manufacturers and provides venues for small and medium scale manufacturers in making them product-and market-ready through marketing and promotional assistance. It is also the major organizer of the IFEX Philippines 2013 with DA-Agriculture and Marketing Assistance Service and other private partners.

During the orientation, they have discussed the details of the IFEX, which for this event, will feature Asia's Ethnic Food and Ingredients. They will showcase local products and indigenous ingredients globally for the exhibition will be attended by guests from all-walks-of-life all across the globe. They will also feature 'Power Fruits of Asia' (Asia's tropical fruits), Halal Food Asia, Seafood Asia, Green Asia (a market for natural and organic food) and many other special events like onsite trainings and seminars. This will surely become an event where producers/manufacturers, suppliers and consumers/buyers  meet and transact

In the end, CITEM got the commitment of every institution to promote the IFEX Philippines 2013. The orientation meeting was held last August 14, 2012 at the DA-AMAS' office.
