4H and RBOs Gather for Regional Summer Youth Camp and Farm Family Forum

With the theme “Together Towards Tomorrow”, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center MiMaRoPa spearheaded the Regional Summer Youth Camp and Farm Family Forum of MiMaRoPa in collaboration with the Regional Field Office MiMaRoPa and Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro. This aims to give the youth and rural-based organizations opportunity to showcase their talents and skills, rebuild camaraderie and kinship and also motivate them further to continue their greater contribution in nation building.

To officially start the program, all participants paraded together with the band. It was followed by a holy pass officiated by a parish priest of Mamburao.

In its first day, each province competed in various contests such as quiz bee, extemporaneous, painting, photography and seed identification. Then, to give the participants a warm welcome, the Municipality of Mamburao hosted the Mayor’s Night and presented various cultural shows.
On the second day, everyone was excited because of the team building activities. They said that it was the first time that the Regional Youth Camp will be including such activities to develop relationships and improve the dynamics of the group.

After a tiresome but enjoyable day, the 4H members performed the ceremonial candle lighting which was part of the yearly activity during Regional Summer Youth Camp. They also enjoyed the Governor’s Night accommodated by the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro. and followed by governor’s night.

Moreover, Mr. Dakila Danseco, former Magsasakang Siyentista and Gawad Saka Awardee shared his story and experiences as a farmer. The Department of Science and Technology also presented their programs and projects.

Regional Summer Youth Camp and Farm Family Forum was held on April 18 - 20, 2017 with a total of 95 participants composed of 4H Clubs, Rural Improvement Clubs, P4MP, Volunteer Leaders Association of the Philippines and Magsasakang Siyentista.
