DILIMAN, Quezon City – With hopes of enabling some young farmers to be instruments of change in improving the agricultural system in the Philippines, First Secretary in Agriculture Kenji Terada of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, together with the Japan Agricultural Exchange Council Local Coordinator Waki Sasago, the Agricultural Training Institute’s Director Asterio Saliot and Deputy Director Renato Dela Cruz led the sendoff activity for the trainees under the Young Filipino Farmers’ Training Program (YFFTPJ). This is the last leg of the 75-day Pre-departure Orientation Course (PDOC) for the 20 young farmers before heading to Japan for the 11-month hands-on course in pre-identified local farms.
