Highlights from the Mass Graduation of School-on-the-Air on Sustainable Mango Production
STA. Barbara, Pangasinan – As one of the priority crops of Region I, mango production contributes significantly to the economy of the region. Since it is vital to provide and update mango farmers on the latest farming technology on mango production, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center in Ilocos Region (ATI-RTC I) held the School-on-the-Air (SOA) program on sustainable mango production.
Around 1,113 farmers, agricultural extension workers and agricultural students graduated from the program. They all came from the 25 municipalities of Pangasinan, with the municipality of Sta. Maria having the most number of graduates of 132.
The season-long SOA program was broadcasted over DZRD Sonshine Radio 981 KHz every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 to 6:00 AM from November 2014 to March 2015.
The SOA mass graduation was held last March 4, 2015 at ATI-RTC I in Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
