ATIng Gulayan Street Caravan Goes to Schools
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Participative and eager — these describe the students, parents, and teachers who attended the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) ATIng Gulayan Street Caravan. Last January 31, 2017, ATI visited two schools in barangays Old Balara and Barangay Krus na Ligas to advocate Urban Farming.
Each participant was given the chance to plant their own seeds after the lecture and demonstrations. Students, parents, teachers, community members were able to get a glimpse of how Urban Farming is done through this.
Dubbed as “ATIng Gulayan Street Caravan”, the activity is aimed at promoting urban farming as a way of utilizing what little space communities have in the metro, for safe, sustainable, and accessible food for every Filipino.
