ATI Updates Cost Standards on AFE Services thru Zonal Consultations
DILIMAN, Quezon City — The Policy and Planning Division (PPD) of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) took the lead in reviewing and formulating cost standards for extension support, education, and training services (ESETS). This is to fulfill its role to advise the Department of Agriculture in managing financial and logistical support for extension, and to provide leadership in formulating the national agriculture and fisheries extension agenda and budget.
Organizing a series of “Zonal Multi-Stakeholder Consultation on the Updating of the Cost Standards for Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Services”, PPD recently held the Luzon Zonal Consultation at the ATI Rural Development and Education Center on February 27-28, 2017.
Twenty-two (22) representatives from Luzon ATI network of training centers and the Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network or AFEN participated in the formulation of the updated version of the document for Cost Standards on Agriculture, Fisheries Extension Services. This series aims to establish a reliable cost standards, specifically to minimize extreme deviations of financial accomplishments from financial targets and enhance the implementers’ planning efficiency.
The second and third leg of consultations is scheduled on March 14-15 and 28-29 for Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.
