Ready for Takeoff: YFFTPJ Batch 2017 Finishes PDOC

DILIMAN, Quezon City – For more than three decades now, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has been reaching out to young farmers in rural areas in the Philippines to pass on new agricultural technologies and practices through an exchange program in Japan. This program, called the Young Filipino Farmers Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ), has recently concluded a Pre-departure Orientation Course (PDOC) for some 18 scholars this year.

AKLAN --- With the theme " 4-H @ 60: Looking Back From Humble Beginnings and Moving Forward to Opportunities and Challenges," the 4-H Club of the Philippines has grown to become one of the country`s oldest, and only youth development organization being supported by the Department of Agriculture (DA) with a total of 65, 726 members and 2,266 organized 4-H Club in barangays and municipalities in the country. It has survived the time in its six decades of existence.

YAFP Program Mechanics

The scholarship program shall cover Bachelor's Degree related to agriculture, fisheries and other agriculture-related courses through schools/universities/institutions as approved by the ATI Capability Building Committee; and the scholar shall study on a full-time basis.
