YAFP Program Mechanics

The scholarship program shall cover Bachelor's Degree related to agriculture, fisheries and other agriculture-related courses through schools/universities/institutions as approved by the ATI Capability Building Committee; and the scholar shall study on a full-time basis.

Extension Service Providers Accreditation

As the extension agency of the Department of Agriculture and in compliance with the provisions of Section 91 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Republic Act No. 8435, otherwise known as the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act, the ATI has been mandated to accredit private extension service providers for the provision of extension services per Administrative Order no. 22, issued by the Department of Agriculture on May 29, 2008, with the following objectives:

Schools for Practical Agriculture

The Schools for Practical Agriculture or Sanayan ng Pagsasaka at Adhikaing Agrikultura (SPA) is a holistic, integrated community-based agribusiness-ecotourism program of ATI.

e-Farming Through the Farmers' Contact Center

e-Farming is the ATI's mode of delivering farm and business advisory through the use of ICTs, being one of the major components of the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries. Similarly, these services are in collaboration with other government institutions’ subject matter specialists and ICT facilities. The services include technical advisory services on agriculture and fisheries production technologies, and agricultural marketing assistance services.

Techno Gabay

The Techno Gabay Program (TGP) was originally initiated by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to promote technology dissemination and utilization guides and facilitate knowledge sharing among extension workers and farmers. 
 

e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries

The e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries is a major component of the Philippine's Department of Agriculture's e-Extension Program, with the ATI as the lead implementing agency, in collaboration with other government agencies, state universities and colleges and nongovernment organizations. The ATI likewise serves as the e-learning administrator, through its Knowledge Products Management Division (KPMD) together with its network of training centers.

e-Extension in the Philippines

The e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries is an electronic delivery of extension services by a network of institutions to provide a viable modality to the more traditional extension systems for agriculture, fisheries and natural resources sectors. It maximizes the distinct advantage of ICT towards the attainment of a modernized agriculture and fisheries sector by focusing on the creation of an electronic and interactive bridge where farmers, fishers and other stakeholders meet and transact to enhance productivity, profitability and global competitiveness.
