New Edition of Organic Agriculture Directory to be Out Soon

The Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute and the Spread Organic Agriculture in the Philippines (SOAP) Movement will be releasing the second edition of the only Organic Agriculture Directory in the country.
 
After it has been launched during the 9th National Organic Agriculture Congress in Cebu last November 2012, the directory has been in demand for all farmers, producers and suppliers, even consumers who are into organic farming and who are planning to venture into organic agriculture.
 

ATI, ASSIST Hold Hands in Introducing CSA to Smallholder Farmers

DILIMAN, Quezon City—“If we really wanted to make a significant mark in poverty reduction, helping them is the best way to start.” These were the words of Senator Cynthia Villar, Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food during the project launch of “Improving Productivity in Agriculture through Climate-Smart Technology” or ImPACT Philippines. Villar stressed the need to support our farmers and fishers since about two-thirds of the country’s population is involved in the agriculture sector, directly or indirectly.

This is the goal of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and its network of training centers as they convene for the “Tales to Tell: Writeshop on Success Stories in Agriculture” on May 8-12, 2017.

ATI Gears Towards ISO 9001:2015

DILIMAN, Quezon City — The success in the maintenance of the ISO 9001:2008 certification during the 2nd Third-Party Surveillance Audit of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) now leads its Internal Quality Auditors to attend a training-workshop on ISO 9001:2015.

The activity aims to provide the participants a calibrated and enhanced knowledge and skills in compliance to the new version. This is also to prepare and equip them for the adaption and transition of the Institute and the seven expansion training centers to the ISO 9001:2015 by September 2018, 21.

To Greater Heights: Government Quality Management Committee recognizes ATI

MANILA -- Valuing a quality agricultural extension and training service delivery, the Government Quality Management Committee (GQMC) recently awarded the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) with a plaque of recognition for successfully establishing a Quality Management System Certification to ISO 9001:2008 standards.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) recently welcomed newly appointed Director III Alfredo Aton, MPS-DM as its Officer-in-Charge Director.

Seen in photo with other new appointees of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Aton (second from right) has been in government service for more than 20 years. Prior to this appointment, Aton served as a Management and Audit Analyst in the Office of the Provincial Governor of North Cotabato for almost 18 years.
