Partner-Agencies convene for the 1st Quarter RAFEN meeting
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 successfully conducted the 1st Quarter RAFEN meeting on March 17, 2017. This was well represented by the personnel from the National partner-agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs) and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
TCS II Robert T. Poculan Jr. presided the said meeting with a warm welcome message “ATI won’t exist without you which underscore the saying that goes ‘No man is an Island’, he said. “That’s why we need your cooperation, we have to link with each other whatever programs and projects we have for our farmers and fishers”, he further stressed.
Updates on project and program implementations for 2017 among member agencies as well as the presentation of plans and programs of ATI-Caraga for this year are the new business agenda discussed during the session. This is for a harmonized program implementation towards the betterment of the Filipino farmers and fishers as the identified citizen-customers of the Agriculture Sector in this 21st century.
Among the attendees were Mr. Rodel Oclarit from Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) and Mr. Rodel Pasion from Caraga State University (CSU) while Mr. Ruben Mananquil and Mr. Jerson Jabay represented the Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Office (PAVO) of Agusan del Sur together with Mr. Arnie Arreza.
Representative from the National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS) was Mr. Claro Dennis Morantte. Asst. Provincial Agriculturist Emprecion Aban of Dinagat Islands, also present during the RAFEN meeting together with Mr. Sharen Rivas from PhilRice-Agusan.
Moreover, Ms. Grace Orilla of Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) was among the group. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) was represented by Mr. Ricardo Varela. On the other hand, Mr. Justiniano Orina Jr. represents PhilFIDA together with Mr. Carlos Salazar of AMIGO, an Extension Service Provider (ESP) of ATI-Caraga. The Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Offices of Surigao del Norte was well represented by Ms. Sol Cecilia and Ms. Stella Asuncion Sabaldan, respectively.
Said meeting started at 10:00 in the morning and ended at 4:00 in the afternoon on Friday, March 17, 2017 at ATI-Caraga, Los Angeles, Butuan City.
