The implementation of Extension Support, Education and Training Services (ESETS) interventions by the Department of Agriculture (DA), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Government Units (LGUs) and other stakeholders of the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) brought the concerned agencies together for a consultation meeting.
The first and second batch of the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) briefing and deployment for the province of Apayao conducted on November 14 to 18 2016 and November 21 to 25, 2016 respectively. The first batch covered the municipalities of Calanasan, Conner, Kabugao and Pudtol while the municipalities of Flora, Luna and Sta. Marcela composed the second batch.
A total of 21 participants compost of 14 4H Club members, 6 4-H Club Coordinators, 1 RIC Coordinator coming from the different municipalities of the Cordillera Administrative Region attended the Training on Food processing and preservation with NC II Certification on October 12-15, 2016 held at the OPAg Benguet Technology Demonstration Center, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet. Of the 22 participants, 15 individuals passed the NC II certification. They were assessed by Ms. Shirley Cael, assessor on Food Processing of TESDA-Benguet.
Aligning to the new standard version of ISO 9001:2015, the ATI-CAR and ATI-RTC 2 join forces to a comprehensive orientation regarding the new version with Risk-Based Approach on September 29-30, 2016 at the Aspulan Hall of ATI-CAR, BSU Compd., La Trinidad, Benguet. Mr. Rene Liamzon, the resource person and facilitator discussed the new version to the process owners how to align their own procedures with the new standard.
Organic practitioners in the Cordillera Administrative Region converged for an OA congress with the theme “towards an innovative and sustainable organic agriculture in the Cordillera Administrative Region” held on August 30-31, 2016 at ATI-CAR, La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity aims to foster an avenue to further advocate the OA program to the stakeholders and to the community as a whole.
Taking the cue from the instructions of DA Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol, the DA convened the stakeholders of the Benguet Agri Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) to thresh-out the issues hampering the facility's full operation.
