Networking and Linkages
The ATI is the Training and Extension arm of the DA. As such, it should exert effort to promote efficiency in the use of resources whether financial, human resources and or physical facilities. Networking initiatives and partnerships are established and or strengthened through convergence and resource complementation among the stakeholders in the CALABARZON region.
The ATI-Region IVA is an active member agency of the Southern Tagalog Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (STARRDEC). As member of the consortium, ATI Region IVA supports the various programs of the consortium such as research and development management, technology management and research and development utilization, capability building and governance and policy advocacy. ATI technical staff takes the responsibilities in committee membership. They likewise take an active role in the capability building of the member agencies and its clientele.
The agency is also a member of the Regional Management Council (RMC) in the region. This body is composed of agency heads of attached agencies and bureaus of the Department of Agriculture and private stakeholders in agricultural systems in the area. The Regional Executive Director of the Regional Field Unit of the Department of Agriculture Region IVA takes the council leadership. The council aims to manage all the agricultural programs, projects and activities in the region to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in its implementation.
To complement the RMC, the Agricultural and Fisheries Extension Network (AFEN) aims to harmonize all the extension and training programs and projects in the region and promote complementation of resources. The ATI Region IVA serves as the secretariat of the AFEN in Region IVA . This is also spearheaded by the Regional Executive Director of the Regional Field Unit of the Department of Agriculture in Region IVA.
The ATI Region IVA maintains strong relationships and linkages with the LGUs and private organizations and institutions and congressional representatives in the region. This facilitates the implementation of its extension and training programs and activities in the area. The School on the Air in Batangas City, Farmers Field School – Buffalo Dairy Production in General Trias, Cavite, Blood Collection and Handling of Samples for Livestock in Laguna were among the projects implemented by the center which demonstrated solid partnerships among the stakeholders.
For this year, courses on Project Proposal Preparation and Livelihood Project Development, among others, are to be offered by the center aside from our regular courses. These are requested by the LGUs as a response to the needs of their clients.
