ATI Calls for Public Consultation on Co-Financing Guidelines for AFE Projects

DILIMAN, QUEZON CITY --- Finally it's out!
After a series of dialogues and consultations with the various stakeholders, the guidelines for the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Co-Financing Agreements with the Local Government Units (LGUs) for the extension projects reached its final review and consultation prior to its implementation.

The Department of Agriculture's extension and training arm, the Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), held a consultation meeting with various government agencies involved to further review and provide the final corrections and inputs from the stakeholders to evolve the final Implementing Rules and Regulations of Administrative Order no. 11, Series of 2010.
Some 40 representatives from the DA-Office of the Secretary, the different bureaus and Regional Field Units (RFUs) under the DA, the Local Government Units (LGUs), and other National Agencies attended the meeting titled "Public Consultation on the Development of IRR for the Co-Financing Agreements (CFA) with LGUs."
During the consultation meeting, the group was able to come up with an enhanced IRR for the Co-Financing Agreements with the LGUs in the Financing of Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Projects and Programs. It is hoped that the ensuing document can eventually be offered as a concrete contribution to good governance particulary in public extension as enunciated by the new administration.
The event took place on September 9, 2010 at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management in Diliman, Quezon City. (Beatriz A. Yanga with reports from Khayang L. Battad)
