CALATAGAN, Batangas - Corn and sugarcane are two of the most important crops in this municipality, with one-third of farmers, depending on corn and sugarcane as their major source of livelihood. However, due to traditional farming practices on harvesting, farmers are used to burn corn and sugarcane by-products; thus, contributing to the effects of greenhouse gases.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - A total of 114 rice farmers and AEWs attended the series of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) briefings last May 7-9, 2019 in six municipalities of Laguna namely Kalayaan, Lumban, Pakil, Paete, Sta. Cruz, Pagsanjan, and three municipalities in Quezon province particularly, Pitogo, General Luna and Macalelon.

PITOGO, Quezon- To enhance the knowledge and skills of the farmers in Pitogo, Quezon on organic agriculture, the Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A together with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Quezon and Local Government of Pitogo through the Municipal Agriculture Office launched the Farmers' Field School (FFS) on Integrated Diversified Organic Farming System (IDOFS).
GUMACA, Quezon – A pilot project of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA RFO) IV-A through the assistance of Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) Quezon, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon joins the launching of coconut model farm on May 7, 2019 in this municipality.

LIPA CITY, BATANGAS – This 2019 marks another joint training as Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region IVA partners with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IVA – Livestock Program for the Training on Proper Laboratory Sample Collection, Disease Prevention and Detection.
MUÑOZ, NUEVA ECIJA – In support to Agriculture and Fishery Mechanization (AFMech), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region IV-A in partnership with Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) led the Technical Capability Enhancement and Resource Person Development on Mechanization and Post-Harvest Technologies for Corn and Selected High Value Crops.
SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNA - Starting up the livestock activities with a buzz, the Agricultural Training Institute Region IVA in coordination with the Provincial Veterinary Offices of Calabarzon conducted the second batch of Training on Apiculture on April 1 - 5, 2019 at Ato Belen’s Farm in this city.
LOS BAÑOS,LAGUNA- Twenty-six (26) Rice Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs) of Calabarzon participated in the “Training Course on System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and Product Stewardship for LFTs Batch 1” held at City of Springs, Los Baños, Laguna last April 1 to 5, 2019.

MAGDALENA, Laguna- To strengthen the organization and craft the 2019-2021 activities of the association, "Samahan ng Magsasaka Siyentista ng Techno Gabay Program sa Region IV-A" (SMSTGP-IVA) in collaboration with Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A spearheaded the "Magsasaka Siyentista: Leaders in Innovative and Progressive Agriculture."
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - In celebration of Women’s Month this March and a back-to-back free seminar on hydroponics, ATI Region IV-A conducted Free Seminar on Value Adding and Processing on High Value Crops (HVC) on March 6, 2019 at ATI Region IV-A Training Hall in this city.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - ATI Region IV-A headed the two (2) activities, the Regional Consultative Workshop for Provincial Agriculture Offices, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and the 1st Quarter Regional Agriculture Fisheries Extension Network (RAFEN) Meeting on March 7 and 8, 2019, respectively at ATI Region IV-A Training Hall in this city.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times.
