ATI in Cagayan Valley
The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has launched another School-on-the Air (SOA) program dedicated for backyard raisers and farmers to address the issues on animal waste management. The program is being aired over DWPE Radyo Pilipinas 729 kHz every Wednesday 5:00 to 6:00 in the morning from September 4 to November 13.
Ilagan City. Around 400 farmer-participants of the ongoing ATI-LGU farmers’ field schools on integrated crop management for corn in 14 municipalities of region 02 participated in the two-day corn derby cum corn-livestock integration summit.
CABAGAN, Isabela. The agricultural extension workers have a critical role in creating awareness on climate change to the farmers as the most vulnerable sector. A three-day training on climate change advocacy was held for the agricultural extension workers of region 02.
San Mateo, Isabela. Back to Basic Seminar featured scientific and sustainable livestock and poultry production. The one-day seminar was held to create awareness and interest of small livestock and poultry growers on sustainable production of livestock and poultry. It was held on August 14, 2019 at the Livelihood Training Center, San Mateo, Isabela.
Pushing for environmental concern as one of its core flagship programs, 4H Club Cagayan Valley launched its first-ever Regional Synchronous 4H Tree Planting Activity, July 10, 2019.
CABAGAN, Isabela. It is an all-in-one package. The training on information, education and communication on climate change created awareness and equipped knowledge of extension workers on climate change and produced various pretested print materials.
CABAGAN, Isabela. Now aired in eight radio stations, the two schools-on-the air (SOA) are reaching out thousands of farmers all over the region.
CABAGAN, Isabela. After the training on rice crop manager advisory service for the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers, 26 FITS Centers who participated in the training were given global position system (GPS) device as support in implementing the activity.
CABAGAN, Isabela. The three batches of training on rice crop manager advisory service (RAS) were completed. It was conducted for the rice agricultural extension workers (AEWs) and staff of the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The third batch of the new breed of Agricultural Development Officers of the Community (AgriDOC) now on their second month of the season-long training.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 02 launched the season-long Training of Trainers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for Vegetable Production on June 24, 2019 at ATI-RTC 02 San Mateo Center.
The said training is being participated by 30 agricultural extension workers and ATI staff and it will run until October 30, 2019.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The learning hub for 4H in Region 02 finally stood right in the compound of the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) here in the municipality. It is now ready to accommodate activities of 4H members.
SAN MATEO, ISABELA. In response to the growing demand for a training on organic and integrated farming, the ATI-RTC 02 conducted a simultaneous Training on Organic Agriculture and on Rice-based Farming System (OA-RBIFS). It was held on June 24-29, 2019 at ATI-RTC 02 San Mateo Center, San Mateo, Isabela.
NAGTIPUNAN, Quirino. The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 reached out the Indigenous People in Disimungal, Nagtipunan, Quirino. This is through the training on on Organic Agriculture Production conducted on June 12-14, 2019.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture.
