RCM goes offline, recommendations now available without internet
It was an innovation employed during the Training on Animal Health Care and Management for Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHW) of ATI Region 02.
The Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 conducted consultation workshop on different banner programs. This is to assess the performance of the training and extension services with the local government units and building common directions on the program implementation this year. It was conducted on February 27-28, 2020 at the Center at Malasin, San Mateo Isabela.
Another batch of rice seed growers in Region 02 attended a three-day retooling course on lowland inbred rice seed production and seed certification at ATI-RTC 02, San Mateo, Isabela.
After undergoing the first two phases of the Farmer Scientists Training Program, selected corn farmers in the municipalities of Basco, Mahatao, Uyugan and Ivana in Batanes joined the training for the phase 3.
The municipality of Cabatuan is known to be one of the top rice producers in the region. However, they are not spared from the challenges of the rice industry as well as the effects of climate change.
As a support, the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 initiated five batches of Corn-after-Rice Training for the selected farmers of the said municipality.
The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) is not only serving farmers but also agriculture students.
As mungbean capital of the Philippines, farmers of San Mateo, Isabela are practicing munggo after rice. As an alternative farming system and to address scarcity of water and low price of palay, corn after rice is also introduced to them.
Along with more vibrant extension services, the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 2 (ATI-RTC 2) embraces innovations and new strategies in extension as it celebrates its 33rd anniversary.
CABAGAN, Isabela. The Agri-trade and one town-one product Fair and exhibit was one of the highlights of the annual celebration of the patronal town fiesta of the municipality of Cabagan. Recognized as strong partner in the agriculture development of the municipality, the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 (ATI-RTC 02) is also invited to participate in the said fair and exhibit.
CLAVERIA, Cagayan. The second round of mass graduation of the school-on-the air on animal waste management was conducted for the graduates of Claveria and Lallo, Cagayan. The 300 graduates from the said municipalities completed the 733 graduates of the said SOA.
Excellent extension services beyond boundaries, a mantra of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) that inspires the ATI-RTC 02 manpower in its 2019 operations. Year 2019 was another breakthrough for region 02 for it reached out more stakeholders and made a difference on their lives with the provision of quality training and extension services achieving 100 percent of its target.
SAN MANUEL, Isabela. “We are lucky to be a beneficiary of the Farmers Information and Technology Service (FITS) Center of the government,” said Municipal Administrator Manuel Arellano of San Manuel, Isabela during the launching program of their FITS Center. The launching was conducted on January 21, 2020 at Municipal Hall compound.
As a continuous capacity development of our farmers, the request for a training of San Guillermo farmers was granted. The two-day Free Seminar on Feed on Feed Formulation was conducted on January 9-10, 2020 at the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02, San Mateo, Isabela.
MALLIG, Isabela. The Local Government Unit of Mallig, Isabela found the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center helpful to their farmers. Launched on Thursday December 18, 2019, the FITS Center is now ready to serve the farmers and other stakeholders of the municipality on the provision of information and technology services.
Ayon sa datos, humigit kumulang 640,614 sako ng binhi ang naibahagi na sa mga magsasaka mula huling linggo ng Oktubre hanggang Disyembre 15. Tinatayang nasa 320,307 ektarya na ang maaaring mataniman ng certified inbred seeds mula sa RCEF-Seed Program.
CVAARRD Consortium members gathered at the Amphitheater of the Isabela State University in Echague, Isabela on December 12, 2019 to celebrate the 41st CVAARRD Anniversary with the theme, “Harnessing Local Legislative Collaborations and Best Practices towards Richer Opportunities and Harmonized R &D/E.” The event was graced by Hon. Alyssa Sheena P.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. “The theories learned from school are very different in actual field”, said Mr. Lemmuel Brito, a Grade 12 student of the Rizal National High School (RNHS), Santiago City. During the culmination activity of their immersion in the Agricultural Training Institute Region 02, Brito said they learned different techniques in farming.
Orani, Bataan. Initiatives, innovations and commitment in the implementation of the information services of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) paid off. Said ATI-RTC 02 accomplishments were recognized during the Information Services (IS) Achievers’ Awards 2019 in Orani, Bataan.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
