SAN MATEO, Isabela. The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) conducted two batches of Capability Enhancement Training for Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs) from different municipalities of region 02.
SANTIAGO CITY. In line with Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol’s directive to make agriculture more accessible to people, the ATI-RTC 02 conducted a Free Seminar on Mushroom Production and Edible Gardening. This was conducted at Villa Gonzaga Center for Agronomy at Brgy. Villa Gonzaga, Santiago City, Isabela last February 28, 2019.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. As hybrid rice trainers and technology promoters, staff of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02), Bureau of Plant Industry – National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI-NSQCS) and PhilRice came together for a training on hybrid rice. It was conducted on February 26-28, 2019 at ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela.
SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya. With the aim of increasing productivity and promoting hybrid rice, series of technical briefing were conducted at Quezon and Osmena, Solano, Bagabag and Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. It was held on February 7, 8, 21 and 27, 2019 respectively.
SANTIAGO CITY. The ABS-CBN TV Patrol Northern Luzon takes part in the promotion of the free seminar on mushroom production and edible gardening conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute Region 02.
STA. MARIA, Isabela. Farmers from Sta. Maria, Isabela and Enrile, Cagayan were encouraged to plant white corn for food since these two municipalities are basically corn producers. A briefing on white corn production was conducted in Enrile, Cagayan and Sta. Maria, Isabela on February 19 and February 21, 2019, respectively.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The Academic and Technology Integration Education Program (ATI-EP) which started on July 20, 2018 to February 21, 2019 is one of the programs of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) implemented for the young farmers. This is in support to the 4H Program wherein the center continuously implements activities for the promising young farmers.
“Empowering Women for Sustainable Livelihood”, a Training on Gender and Development with Food Processing was conducted for Rural Improvement Club (RICs) and Women Leaders of Allacapan, Cagayan. It was held last February 11-13, 2019 at ATI – RTC 02, Cabagan, Isabela.
CABAGAN, Isabela. National Corn Quality Achievers Award Hall of Famer, the Local Government Unit of Penablanca consistently being awarded for the said prestigious award under the Department of Agriculture national corn program. The award serves as an inspiration to the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist of Penablanca for continuously serving their constituents to their best.
CABAGAN, Isabela. It is a mandate that all government agencies shall allocate 5% of its total budget for Gender and Development (GAD) activities and 1% for Special Concerns which include Indigenous Peoples (IP), Senior Citizens (SC) and Persons with Disability (PWD).
SAN MATEO, Isabela. For the first time, the network of Training Centers of the Agricultural Training Institute celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Institute with the theme, sustaining vibrant agricultural productivity through harmonized and proactive extension services.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. While hog raising is the most common source of additional income to farmers, the low number of boars is a problem in producing high quality piglets. In response, the artificial insemination (AI) sa Barangay Project promotes the production of high quality pigs.

Learning Site (LS) cooperator and farm owners attended a one-day orientation and familiarization on Learning Site Towards Farm School at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Office in Iguig, Cagayan on January 25, 2019.
Seven farms from the different parts of the region have been added to the partners of ATI as Learning Sites for Practical Agriculture.
In the Isabela, the GENRAM Farms and Angela’s Farm received their Learning Site Certificate last January 16, 2019 during the launching of Roberto’s Farm School in Alibagu, City of Ilagan.
Another Learning Site for Practical Agriculture of the ATI-RTC 02 was recently accredited as Farm School of the Technical Education and Skill Development Authority (TESDA). The Roberto’s Farm at Sitio Bating, Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Isabela was officially launched as Farm School last January 16, 2019.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. A general staff meeting of the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 immediately held on the first day of office for 2019. This was purposely to discuss the accomplishment, best practices and innovations, and challenges in the implementation of programs in 2018 that can be addressed in the 2019 operations.
Delfin Albano, Isabela. As the Local Government Unit of Delfin Albano, Isabela through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist continued its extension services in the municipality, another extension project was successfully conducted in four barangays showcasing rice seed production that will improve yield of the marginal farmers.
SAN GUILLERMO, Isabela. After launching and series of activities of the students of the Dingading Integrated School in this municipality in boosting the Gulayan sa Paaralan through the 4H Garden in the School, a graduation and field day was conducted for the success of this project. There were 92 students who successfully completed the program.
CABAGAN, Isabela. "Stand with what you start; have a mindset that is achievable,” said Ms. Jennelyn D. Dumwat, Manager of Amballo Pineapple Producers Cooperative in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. She is a participant to the Kapatid Agri-mentor Me Program (KAMMP).
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
