ATI in the Davao Region
In support to the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) undertakings in promoting new educational platforms for students, the Agricultural Training Institute XI (ATI XI) participates in the 2nd Institutional Research Congress and Techno Exhibits of Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) on August 15-16, 2019 at CVSC-Main Campus, Compostela, Compostela Valley Province.
A total of 520 farmers and other stakeholders from various municipalities and cities of Region XI graduated from the School On-the-Air (SOA) on Hybrid Rice Production. The mass graduation ceremony was held on August 9, 2019 at Felis Resort Complex, Davao City.
The Information Services Section (ISS) of the Agricultural Training Institute Region XI (ATI XI), in coordination with Philippine eLearning Society (PeLS) conducted an orientation about the e-Learning for Agriculture Program of the ATI to some 80 teachers and students of University of Mindanao, Matina Campus on August 13, 2019.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI conducted a field tour for the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Managers/Staff and Magsasaka Siyentistas (MS) enhanced under the Climate Information System (CIS) Project in Caraga region on July 30-August 2, 2019.
In support with the Department of Education’s culmination of the Nutrition Month with the theme “Kumain nang Wasto at Maging Aktibo…Push Natin ‘to!, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI sponsors a feeding program to the pupils of Tagurot Elementary School in Brgy. San Nicholas, Panabo City on July 31, 2019.
Davao City- To determine the effectiveness and efficiency in the implementation of the training programs and extension activities for the 1st semester of 2019 and to strengthen the capability of the staff, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI conducted a two-day Mid-year Assessment and Staff Development on July 18-19, 2019 at The Ritz Hotel Garden Oases, Davao City.
Panabo City- Recognizing the need of strengthening the capacities of our agri-extension workers (AEWs), the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI conducted a 10-day Refresher Course on Integrated Crop Management on Vegetable Production. This will also ensure the continuous development of the vegetable industry.
To keenly select the region’s representatives for the national examination for the Young Filipino Farm Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) Batch 2020, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI XI) conducted a regional examination and screening of applicants on July 11, 2019.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI conducted the first batch of regional rollout Training of Trainers (TOT) for Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Advisory Service on June 18-21, 2019 at ATI XI Training Complex.
The ultimate objective of this training is to capacitate regional RCM trainers to operate, use and train others on the upgraded RCM Advisory Service (RAS).
Fulfilling its mission to strengthen the Filipino farm families, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted the 2nd Mindanao-wide Farm Family Congress with the theme "Farm Family: Key Towards Food Availability, Affordability, and Sustainability".
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XI in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) XI successfully conducted the School On-the-Air (SOA) on Goat Production Mass Graduation Ceremony for the 517 farmer-graduates coming from different municipalities in the region.
Working together is a success. Finally, after a long wait, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI just completed its two-storey, multifunctional building intended for Mess Hall and Knowledge Products Resource Center/Information Services Section Office. The official blessing and inauguration of this building along with the Meat Processing Hub was held on June 10, 2019.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves. This is the ATI Today, more committed to bring you extension services beyond boundaries.
