KABUNTALAN, Maguindanao - A total of 120 farmers from the Municipality of Kabuntalan, Maguindanao has received farm inputs as part of the support from JICA-LIFT UP. The farmers from the selected four barangays of this municipality underwent a 4-month training on Climate Smart Farmer’s Field School (CSFFS) which was focused on rice production.
Baybay City, Leyte - ATI RTC 8 gets help from its partner organic agriculture practitioners in implementing the National Organic Agriculture Program in Eastern Visayas. To ensure its effective implementation, the Center conducted the Module Development Training for Organic Agriculture Production.
TUPI, South Cotabato - The ATI-RTC XII headed by Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an led the launching of the newest learning site for agriculture (LSA) in Region XII. Started as a private educational institution, the B.E.S.T. College of Polomolok, Inc.- Tupi Campus has just received an accreditation from ATI-RTC XII as LSA.
The corn and cassava stakeholders of Central Luzon convened for a consultation workshop spearheaded by the Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) on April 5, 2019 in City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
ATI REGION 6, BANGA, Aklan- Dr. Eden DLR. Bautista, as the Center Director of Agricultural Training Institute in Region 6, leads with passion and dedication. As a leader, she makes sure that she attends to various trainings and events to represent the Center amidst her busy schedule. In fact, the month of March was a fully loaded month for her.
LOS BAÑOS,LAGUNA- Twenty-six (26) Rice Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs) of Calabarzon participated in the “Training Course on System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and Product Stewardship for LFTs Batch 1” held at City of Springs, Los Baños, Laguna last April 1 to 5, 2019.
BUTUAN CITY- Around twenty-five (25) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the different municipalities of Region 13 participated in the Ten-day intensive refresher course on vegetable production starting April 2 and will end on April 11, 2019.
Participants comprised Focal Persons under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in the respective municipality.
TANTANGAN, South Cotabato – In most farms, livestock is always present, and its wastes are not far behind. Farm animal wastes are commonly used as a substrate for vermicompost bedding and generally used in organic farming.
ATI Training Hall, EL SALVADOR CITY--- Realizing the importance of sustaining the livestock supply in the country, the National Livestock Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) will conduct a National Livestock Summit. The activity will highlight the importance of livestock farming along with grains and crops which is a profitable and sustainable venture.
CABADBARAN CITY- The Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the different municipalities in Caraga visited Ragas Farm located in Brgy. Sanghan, Cabadbaran City.
TANTANGAN, South Cotabato - The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of various Local Government Unit (LGUs) in Lanao del Sur has a handful of extension workers serving their clients and it is way more than they can handle. With the ratio between technicians to farmers continue to widen, an external and local technician is the only possible option they have.

KORONADAL CITY - Continuous technology advancement indeed improves lives and livelihood. The trend in technology is that it is always being upgraded. That is true with the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) that was developed in partnerships with the Department of Agriculture, PhilRice, IRRI, and ATI.
BANGA, Aklan – Twenty-seven delegates composed of agricultural technicians, facilitators, and training team of Region 6 recently went for an experiential visit to the Region of MIMAROPA. This benchmarking activity last March 19 to 21, 2019 was part of the Season-long Training of Trainers (TOT) on Garlic and Onion Production, Postharvest, and Marketing.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
