DAVAO CITY- Anchored with the theme “Farm Family: Key towards Food Availability, Affordability and Sustainability, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Central Office, in coordination with ATI-RTC XI, has successfully conducted the 2nd Mindanao Farm Family Congress held at Ritz Hotel, Davao City last June 18-20.

To capacitate partners from the Local Government Units (LGUs) and cassava growers regarding Good Agricultural Practices for Cassava and Cassava Quality Standards the Training Course on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for Cassava was conducted on June 25-27, 2019 at Odiongan, Romblon with 25 AEWs and farmer participants.
A farmer to farmer. This was the concept of the Training on Organic Production Technologies conducted at DosFourDos Farm, Aborlan, Palawan, one of ATI Learning Sites.
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – During the fourth leg of Free Seminar that was held on June 27, 2019 at Robinson’s Place, Roxas City, Capiz with the topic on Edible Urban Gardening, 70 Capiznons were listed as participants.
While the idea or concept is great, the transfer of technology depends on the enthusiasm of the participants to apply what is learnt after the training. Sometimes, the objective of one endeavor doesn’t always equal the reality.
MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur- On June 15, 2019, Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an officially launched and opened to the public the Faminanash Farm as the first ever Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) in Marawi City.

TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) on Tuesday, June 18, conducted a 3-day Entrepreneurial Skills Development Training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Food Processors.
TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- Mindanao, being home to majority of Muslims in the Philippines, has the potential to become the halal production hub of the country due to its huge potential markets here and abroad.
The Digital Farmers Program marks a new partnership between the Agricultural Training institute and Smart Communications Inc. was inked during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two. Smart Communications was represented by Mr. Ramon Isberto, head of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications and Director Alfredo S. Aton of ATI.
Two books featuring selected farmers and farm products in Region 10 were launched on June 25, 2019 at Macapagal Hall, City Tourism Office, Sitio Timoga, Buru-un, Iligan City. This endeavor was made to encourage more people to go into farming and for consumers to patronize products from farms.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI conducted the first batch of regional rollout Training of Trainers (TOT) for Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Advisory Service on June 18-21, 2019 at ATI XI Training Complex.
The ultimate objective of this training is to capacitate regional RCM trainers to operate, use and train others on the upgraded RCM Advisory Service (RAS).
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
