Ilagan City. Around 400 farmer-participants of the ongoing ATI-LGU farmers’ field schools on integrated crop management for corn in 14 municipalities of region 02 participated in the two-day corn derby cum corn-livestock integration summit.
ATI-CL conducted training on Food Safety Practices for the Community Leaders of Nueva Ecija on August 21-23, 2019 at Kababaihang Masigla ng Nueva Ecija (KMNE) Training Center, Brgy. Ilog Baliwag, Quezon, Nueva Ecija.
Metro Cagayan de Oro---The ATI in Northern Mindanao has recently been awarded “Best Regional Line Agency Partner” by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-Region-X).

LALA, Lanao del Norte – The Planning Monitoring Evaluation Unit (PMEU) of the center had started a series of provincial consultations since July and are now down to two more provinces. Lanao del Norte being the second to the last province, iFarm became the host of the said activity.
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental – The Planning and Monitoring Evaluation Unit (PMEU) of the center, spearheaded by Mr. Philip D. Villegas conducted the sixth Tier 2 Assessment on August 13-14, 2019. The former for the province of Lanao del Norte and the latter for Bukidnon.
PATIKUL, Sulu—To continually develop and promote organic-based practices among Filipino farmers, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has conducted a training to provide adequacy in knowledge, skills and orientation on the importance of organic vegetable and poultry production.
MUÑOZ, Nueva Ecija – Trainees of the Rice Specialist Training Course (RSTC) concluded the second module required of the course last June 23 to August 17, 2019 at the Philippine Rice Research Institute in Maligaya, Science City of Muñoz.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 recently conducts the Capability Enhancement Training for Rural Improvement Club (RIC) members. This will run for three days starting August 26-28, 2019 right at the Center’s Training Hall.
Baybay City, Leyte – Leadership is a skill one can learn. It is the same as learning any other skill there is. Hence, ATI RTC 8 believes that its partners in extension delivery should be constantly capacitated on leadership and management.
WESTERN VISAYAS – Two batches of Training on Corn Based Feed Processing and Formulation with a total of 61 participants (30 participants in Iloilo City and 31 participants in Roxas City) were administered in the month of August.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - The School on the Air (SOA) on Livestock, currently being implemented by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in CALABARZON will cater to college students taking up Agriculture and related courses in the region.
LUCENA CITY, Quezon - As part of the festivities of the annual Niyogyugan Festival, hosted by the Provincial Government of Quezon, farmers and fisher folks gathered for the “Araw ng Pamilyang Magsasaka.”
CABAGAN, Isabela. The agricultural extension workers have a critical role in creating awareness on climate change to the farmers as the most vulnerable sector. A three-day training on climate change advocacy was held for the agricultural extension workers of region 02.

SURIGAO CITY – Strengthening and showing its support to livestock raisers in the country, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted the Back to Basics: Scientific and Sustainable Livestock and Poultry Production on August 16, 2019 at the Provincial Convention Center.

The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) has undergone the 2nd Readiness Assessment in verification of the compliance of the implemented and maintained management system against the requirement of the ISO 9001:2015 on August 8-9, 2019 in its regional training center in Dinalupihan, Bataan.
San Mateo, Isabela. Back to Basic Seminar featured scientific and sustainable livestock and poultry production. The one-day seminar was held to create awareness and interest of small livestock and poultry growers on sustainable production of livestock and poultry. It was held on August 14, 2019 at the Livelihood Training Center, San Mateo, Isabela.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
