To be updated of the government programs that are fashioned to improve the Agriculture sector, members of the Association of Learning Sites for Agriculture in Region XII (ALSA-Dose) and representatives of different government agencies convened on June 6, 2019 for a 1-day consultation meeting held at the Agricultural Training Institute XII.
Thirty-two participants finished the three-day Training on Integrated Crop Management cum Farming System for Corn conducted from June 4 to 6, 2019 ATI Region 6’s Training Hall, ASU Compound, Banga, Aklan.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - The Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A conducted two batches of "Cassava Production and Food Processing Training" for farmer leaders, Rural-Based Organization (RBO) members and some Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs).
Catubig, N. Samar – Duck farming can be a lucrative livestock enterprise. However, most farmers complain of its sustainability because of the rising prices of feeds and the damaging effects of climate change. With these challenges, ATI RTC 8 conducted the Training on Sustainable Duck Farming through its Extension Service Provider, the Fair Gems Academy, Inc.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- In partnership with the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) 13, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 recently conducts a Capability Enhancement Course for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) with Agri Crops Production NC III from June 3-7, 2019.
VLAP (Volunteer Leaders Association of the Philippines) members in Central Luzon convened to participate in Leadership Training cum Strengthening Volunteer Leaders’ Enterpreneurial Skiils and Networking Capacity on May 22-24, 2019 in Otel Pampanga, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – With more than 400 participants, it was announced during the 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention on May 28-31, 2019, Caraga Region will be the host for next year’s congress.
STA. MARIA, LAGUNA - In compliance to third party certification, the Samahan ng Organikong Industriya ng Laguna or SOIL, headed by Ms. Suzette Sales, completed the Training on Internal Control System (ICS) on May 28 - 31, 2019 in this municipality. The three-day training aims to provide the requirements and guidelines for the installation of ICS.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 recently conducts the Skills Training on Fruit Processing and Food Safety Awareness which runs from June 3-5, 2019 right at the Center’s Training Hall.
KORONADAL CITY -- Long-time veterinarian and organic practitioner Dr. Amor Elevazo primed farmers and farmer-technicians in South Cotabato with advanced methods in organic livestock and poultry production in a training spearheaded by ATI-RTC XII.
Vigan City, Ilocos Sur- The overall championship was once again reaped by Region XII as they shined and bested the country’s 14 regions in the recently concluded 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention held last May 28-31, 2019 at Hotelinda Suites, this city.
BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte - The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) conducted the 2nd Mass Graduation on e-Learning for Agriculture Students on May 31, 2019 at the Teatro Ilocandia, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
BAGUMBAYAN, Sultan Kudarat - To encourage more participation from stakeholders particularly those from the rural-based organizations or various sectors of the populace, several batches of free seminars were scheduled by the Center since January.
VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – To promote new ideas and innovations and to further entice the youth to engage in farming, 26 individuals composed of 4-H Club members and coordinators actively participated in the 67th Farm Youth National Convention on May 28 – 31, 2019 at Hotelinda Suites. The group was also recognized as the top 6 among the 15 participating regions during the said event.
BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte - In an effort to have additional Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Certified vegetable farm in the region, two batches of training on GAP for vegetable production were conducted in the month of May 2019. This was successfully attended by 67 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Farmer-leaders in regionwide.
Cebu City - Twenty-two (22) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Information Officers (IOs) from Region VII participated the Farmcasting/Broadcasting Training at Golden Valley Hotel this city on May 28-30, 2019.
CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – The School-on-the-Air (SOA) program on Swine Production is now on its 3rd official airing over Kuya Mark Broadcasting Corporation - Mark FM 101.5. The SOA is conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 in coordination with the Provincial Veterinary Office headed by Provincial Veterinarian Belen M. Aruelo.
CEBU - Aiming to deliver necessary information to our farmers and livestock raisers of Barili, this province, the Agricultural Training Institute-7 through the Cebu Technological University aired a one-month School-on-the-Air (SOA) Program at the CTU-Barili based dyME 97.5 khz Radyo Kahimsog.
Pasay City - The Department of Agriculture's Annual Rice Achievers Awards highlights the contributions of Agricultural Extension Workers, Local Government Units, Irrigators Associations, Small Water Impounding Systems Associations, and Local Farmer Technicians to the rice industry especially on their commitment in attaining rice sufficiency.
With the aim to further capacitate Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on the effective dissemination and implementation of the Rice Crop Manager in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute in MiMaRoPa conducted the Training on Rice Crop Manager Advisory Services on May 28-31, 2019 at ATI MiMaRoPa, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
