SAN MATEO, Isabela. The Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 (ATI-RTC 02) conducted a mass graduation for the Regional Roll-out on “Enabling the AgRiDOC: A New Breed of Agricultural Development Officers of the Community and the School-on-the Air on Low-cost Swine Production and Upgrading of Native Chicken.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – Twenty-nine farm operators and two Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) joined the Training on Rice Machinery Operations: Focus on Mechanical Transplanter and Double Mulching Technique from October 16-19, 2018 at the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XIII (ATI-Caraga).
BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – They worked for it, they got it! All 28 participants of the Training Course Towards Capacitating Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) passed the National Certification III on Agricultural Crops Production.
TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- A healthy food started with a good soil medium and good selection of vegetable seeds that we need most. These are the most essential items to consider in establishing easy access of food source at home and solve the problem on food scarcity.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. For the Rural-based Organizations to have alternative enterprises, selected RBO members were trained on goat meat production.
CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – Lourdes Mandam is a farmer from Brgy. Lawigan. She swore before never to plant cacao after the failure she experienced when she tried to grow the crop in the past. Thirty of her cacao trees were attacked by the cocoa pod borer - a pest that can cause a yield loss of up to 40%.
SABLAYAN, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO— Participated by 60 participants coming from staff of Farmer’s Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers, Magsasakang Siyentista and Partner-Member Agencies from MiMaRoPa, the ATI MiMaRoPa spearheaded the 3rd Techno Gabay Program Summit on October 15-19, 2018 at Adventure Camp Beach and Resort, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte─the means, end , and the lessons learned were evaluated, and discussed during the Third Program Assessment of the Tier 2 Extension Support to poorest municipalities in Lanao del Norte.
Merida, Leyte - Corn is one of the most important crops grown in country. Like rice, it is also a staple crop and contributes widely to the livestock and poultry industries in the Philippines. Hence, corn farmers are continuously capacitated to further boost their production.
BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur – Thirty (30) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) attended a Symposium on Organic Agriculture on October 19, 2018 at the City Organic Agri-Fishery Complex (COAFC) this city.
TAGBILARAN CITY - In consonance with the Organic Act of 2010 in the Philippines which seeks “to promote, propagate, develop further and implement the practice of organic agriculture in the country” the Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continuously conduct training and extension activities geared towards organic farming.
The 4H program in the region is implemented through the collaboration of ATI 8, the Local Government Units with their assigned coordinators, the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 8, and the 4H Club members. Designing strategies to synchronize with the activities of each collaborator is thus important to minimize overlapping of activities and maximizing all the resources.
SAN LUIS, Agusan del Sur – Twenty-two (22) farmers from San Luis completed the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Cacao Production. The said activity ran from April 25 to October 17, 2018 with a total of 16 sessions.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) tapped the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Regional Training Center in Region IV-A in bringing capability trainings on Basic Urban Gardening to some residential areas in Cavite.
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte – “I worked hard to learn cacao farming because this may be a key to beating poverty. We are very poor and burdened with debts. This is the plight of most of us. Sometimes we get sick for skipping our meals because we don’t have money. That is why opportunities like this Farmers Field School on Cacao Production is something I don’t want to miss.
Tagbilaran City - The Agricultural Training Institute-VII (ATI-VII) in collaboration with the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Agricultural Training Institute- International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), National Dairy Authority (NDA), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) and with the Provincial Government of Bohol sponsored the Second Day of
KALINGA, Apayao - The Volunteer Leaders Association of the Philippines (VLAP) has been a constant partner of Agricultural Training Institute in providing excellent extension services. As it constitutes a significant part of the Rural Based Organizations (RBO), the VLAP also involves communities for Indigenous People (IP).
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 7 based in Cabawan District, Tagbilaran City conducted two School-on-the-Air (SOA) dubbed as Eskwelahan sa Hayopan sa Kahanginan (SOA on Livestock) at Siquijor and Bohol provinces respectively.
Changing lives changing community: Environmental Awareness and Stewardship for Rice Focals in Maguindanao
TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- To strengthen their capability of being a leader towards community development, the ATI-XII provides first hand training on capability development and environment cum environmental awareness and stewardship along gender and development for rice focal in Maguindanao-ARMM on October 9-12, 2018.
NEGROS ORIENTAL. – A three-day youth encampment among 4Hers in this province with the emphasis on mushroom production and containerized gardening held at Formation Center in Bacong last October 3-5, 2018.
