Borongan City, E. Samar – In far-flung barangays in the country, people rely on the services of the barangay animal health worker (BAHW) when it comes to problems on their livestock. Without veterinarians in their areas, the BAHW is able to give immediate care for livestock health problems.
Baybay City, Leyte – More and more are getting enticed to learn about the many uses of corn husks including making flowers which can be used in various floral arrangement.
BANGA, Aklan. Climate change is the new normal. Impacts are inevitable and have affected several sectors in the country, including the agriculture sector. Farmers are experiencing drastic changes in weather that have affected their ways and practices on farming.
CABADBARAN CITY. As part of the intervention to the Indigenous People (IP), the training on Organic Agriculture for Indigenous Peoples was conducted on June 19 – 21, 2019 at Social Hall, Cabadbaran City.
SAN ISIDRO, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte – Rural women here learned another profitable way of making money from selling rice - by processing it into delicious kakanin which could earn them a 25% net income. This realization was brought about by the Skills Training on Rice-based Processing for Rural Women and RIC which was held in the said town from June 18-20, 2019.
BUTUAN CITY - The Department of Agriculture (DA) is mandated to promote agricultural development through the provision of support services to improve productivity and income of the farmers and other stakeholders. Though many have availed of these services, there are still some who have not benefited from DA’s interventions.
BANGA, Aklan – Three-day training on Animal Health Care and Management successfully ended with 26 Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHW) participants coming from Libacao, Aklan last June 17 – 19, 2019 at ATI Training Hall, Banga, Aklan.
NORALA, SOUTH COTABATO -- A recently concluded Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Briefing and Recommendation Generation was organized by ATI-RTC XII at Norala, South Cotabato last June 11, 2019.
Alang-alang, Leyte - The Adopt a Farm Youth Program is being implemented across the different ATI networks with the active partnership of Schools for Practical Agriculture (SPA) and Learning Sites for Agriculture in their respective region. With this program, 4-H youth will have a first-hand experience in agriculture living and learning with farmers in their farms.
Farmer-Scientist Training Program (FSTP) Phase II was started on June 18, 2018 in Sitio Tamisan, Barangay Poypoy, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro.

Baybay City, Leyte - The Continuing Education for the Youth Scholarship Program of the ATI-RTC 8 has helped support 4-H youth from Region 8 and Bicol for their studies in the field of Agriculture. As one ATI scholar said, this was her opportunity to finish her studies since her parents couldn’t afford to bring her to school because they find it difficult to make ends meet for the family.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XI in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) XI successfully conducted the School On-the-Air (SOA) on Goat Production Mass Graduation Ceremony for the 517 farmer-graduates coming from different municipalities in the region.

The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) promoted Organic White Corn Production and Processing in Central Luzon through a training held at Hotel Consuelo, Sta Rosa, Nueva Ecija on May 22-24, 2019.
The said training aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills on organic white corn farming and value adding and integrate it in their action plan.

Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
