JARO, Iloilo City, Iloilo – Rice Crop Manager (RCM) focal persons from different regions both ATI-RTCs and DA-Regional Field Offices (RFO) attends the last updating and planning workshop for the year 2018 last November 20-23, 2018. The participants includes two (2) RCM focal from Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
Baybay City, Leyte – Sun, sand, wind, and waves…words that may sound like one grand R&R. However, to a school whose vegetable garden is right beside the sea, these words spell one big nightmare. It means when the wind is strong, plants can be toppled. When the tide is high, crops get submerged in seawater. A month’s work can be gone in just a few minutes.
Baybay City, Leyte - The “roars” of the young ones still sounded as strong and sure as the first time. Now on its 4th year, the Rice and Organic Agriculture Awareness Reach Schools (ROARS) continued its campaign to teach children to be RicePonsible and adopt organic agriculture practices in school and even at home.
The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center MiMaRoPa under the Organic Agriculture Program is conducting two batches of Farmer’s Field School. The first batch of FFS themed “Kabataan ay Hikayatin, Organikong Pagsasaka ay Palaganapin” is participated by 25 selected K-12 students of Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National Highschool, Brgy. Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur – Students and faculty members of the Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) underwent a training on organic agriculture production last November 20-22, 2018 at the University’s campus in Tagbina. Aside from the SDSSU participants, farmers and members of the 4H Club also took part in the said training and brought the total participants to 30.
CEBU CITY – The 15th National Organic Agriculture Congress (NOAC) with this year’s theme: “Organic Agriculture: Advancing the Local Food Culture Movement in the Philippines which the Department of Agriculture is spearheading was held at the Waterfront Hotel, Salinas Drive, this city last November 13-15, 2018.
TAGBILARAN CITY - The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 7 at Cabawan Dist., this city awarded Certificates to three (3) Cebu – based Organic Farms as an Accredited Learning Sites (LS) of the agency during the 15th National Organic Agriculture Congress held at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City on Nov. 13 – 15 2018.
BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – A total of 27 participants completed the Training on Vegetable Production and Management for High School Students, Teachers and Learning Site Operators last November 19-21, 2018 at the ATI-RTC XIII training complex.
ATI-RTC X, EL SALVADOR CITY - Twenty four farm owners from Alubijid, Misamis Oriental and neighboring municipalities received their certificate of completion for the Season Long Farmers Field School on Cacao Production today, in a graduation ceremony at the ATI-RTC X, El Salvador City. The cacao farmers have undergone the four months training from August 3 to November 22, 2018.

SAN ISABELA, Isabela. The National Livestock Program through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is promoting ‘Back to Basic: A Scientific and Sustainable Poultry and Livestock Production’. It is a campaign towards a profitable and sustainable livestock and poultry industry. It provides module as a starter kit to farmers who attended the one-day campaign.
Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City---Retired Colonel Honorio S. Cervantes of Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City recently nabbed The Outstanding Farmers of the Philippines (TOFARM) Award (Urban Farmer Category) with a cash award and plaque of recognition at the TOFARM Search and Award ceremony held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

ATI Compound, Quezon City---Recognizing the efforts and the impact they have contributed in terms of attaining food security and agricultural development in the countryside, a group of farmers and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from Bukidnon were lauded during the recently concluded National Corn and Cassava Achievers Awards.
BRGY. DESAMPARADOS, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur - Indigenous Peoples (IPs) of Purok Bataran and Purok 3 will receive a livelihood project from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) after an immersion activity which was a part of the “Sensing Journey on Indigenous People” participated by ten (10) 4H Club members and three (3) ATI – Regional Training Center 13 staff last November 6-9, 2018.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture Regional Office XI (DA-RFO XI), has given away native free-range chickens to School-on-the- Air (SOA) on Chicken Production graduates in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental and Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province on October 27, 2018.
MAKILALA, Cotabato - Sis. Ma. Dolores Olog, or Sis. Dolly is an Oblate of Notre Dame (OND) nun who has a great passion in farming. This is seen in the number of animals and plants she tends, along with her fellow nuns in their congregation’s five hectare integrated organic farm in the OND Genesis Farm located in Barangay Saguing, Makilala, Cotabato Province.
A consensus was achieved between the Agricultural Training Institute XI and its various stakeholders with regards to the trainings and other extension services for next year.
This is after the regional training center held its Regional Stakeholders Consultation on the Training and Other Extension Activities for 2019-2020 last October 16-17,2018.
Seventy-five cacao farmers from Panabo City, Davao del Norte toured three of the most successful cacao farms in Calinan District, Davao City on October 18, 2018 to learn good agricultural practices .
The said farmers were students of the Farm Field School (FFS) on Cacao Production and Processing, a component activity of the Training of Trainers on Cacao Production with NC II.
