TAGBILARAN CITY. Rice Crop Manager (RCM) is an application contributing to the implementation of appropriate modern precision farming by providing farmers with personalized crop and nutrient management recommendations matching their location-specific rice-growing conditions. Adjacent farmers with different rice-growing conditions receive different recommendations.
LUNA, La Union – In response to the government’s call for closer and responsive partnership with the youth sector, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I conducted Leadership Skills and Livelihood Training for La Union 4-H’ers on April 11-13, 2019 at Luna National High School, Luna, La Union.
PAGADIAN CITY – One of the most organized living creatures on earth is honeybee. Bees are the most loyal pollinators. They play an essential role in the pollination of fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and other crops. In Zamboanga Peninsula, more farmers are now into natural and organic farming and they need pollinators to increase yield in a natural way.
The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), granted water buffaloes to two (2) Learning Sites in Central Luzon on April 10, 2019 in Pampanga and Tarlac.
ROSARIO, La Union- In partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1), the College of Agriculture of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) conducted the Off-Season Vegetable Production (Gulayan sa Tag-ulan) Training on April 22-26, 2019 at DMMMSU-SLUC, Rosario, La Union.
SAN MIGUEL, Iloilo - Thirty farmers graduated from the 10-day Training of Trainers on Climate Resiliency Farm Business School held at Goducate Training Center, San Miguel, Iloilo yesterday May 1, 2019.
REGION XII - Three batches of Technical Briefing on Mushroom were separately conducted to farmers in selected municipalities in Region 12 including Columbio, Sultan Kudarat and Tantangan, South Cotabato.
TANTANGAN, SOUTH COTABATO. Another concerted undertaking to boost mushroom industry in SOCCSKSARGEN was carried out by ATI-RTC XII, DA-RFO XII and LGU of Tantangan, South Cotabato.
MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGE, VALENCIA CITY, BUKIDNON- The Free Seminar on Oyster Mushroom Production and Spawn Making yielded 110 participants who were very enthusiastic about the technology. The one-day seminar was conducted at Mountain View College (MVC), Mt. Nebo, Valencia City.
MALAYBALAY CITY- The signing of RA 11203 or the Rice Tarrification Law has resulted to apprehensions by the rice farmers including those in Northern Mindanao. The law which eliminates quantitative restrictions in importation is expected to reduce the cost of rice in the market since imported rice are priced low.
TABE’S PLACE, PALAO, ILIGAN CITY – “BIDA 4-H: Bringing Innovation and Development in Agriculture through the 4-H Clubs.” This is the theme for the 6th Regional 4-H Youth Camp that is happening today at Tabe’s Place, Palao, Iligan City.

MAASIM, Sarangani - Sustainability is a goal many wants to achieve in life, especially in agricultural production endeavors. Since 2018 the National Livestock Program (NLP) of the Department of Agriculture has been conducting advocacy seminars for the small scale and backyard poultry producers.

PAGADIAN CITY- To acquaint corn and cassava regional coordinators for CY 2019 revised National Quality Corn Achievers Award (NQCAA), Cassava Cluster Management Award (CCMEA) and CORNUCOPIA Guidelines, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture conducted a Zonal Briefing for Mindanao A cluster.
A three-day training on Animal Health Care and Management for Barangay Animal Health Worker (BAHW) was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 02 to enhance the knowledge and skills of the frontliners in attending the needs of farm animals in their community.
COLUMBIO, Sultan Kudarat - ATI-RTC XII in coordination with DA-RFO XII and LGU of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat conducted two batches of free Technical Briefings on Mushroom Production last April 23 and 24, 2019 at the Municipal Gymnasium of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. The briefings were attended by 105 local mushroom enthusiasts like agricultural extension workers, farmers, teachers and students.
BASCO, Batanes – Regional focal persons of Rural Based Organization (RBO) and 4-H Club joined the Capability Enhancement for 4-H and RBO Focal Persons sponsored by the Partnership and Accreditation Division (PAD) of the Agricultural Training Institute – Central Office (ATI-CO) last April 22-26, 2019.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture.
