PAGADIAN CITY – 17 Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) owners/cooperators, out of the 20 new certified LSA, attended the simultaneous signing of Memorandum of Agreement and awarding of certificate of LSA. Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) is a farm practicing applicable agricultural technologies, employing doable farming strategies and operating successfully. Since 2017, there are now 26 accredited LSA in Zamboanga Peninsula. And there are 39 application subject for evaluation for this year.
In the opening remarks of Mr. Eduardo C. Sala, Jr.,Agriculturist II, expressed his happiness for the most awaited event for the LSA. He said, “Tulay (ang mga LSA) sa pang-agrikultura ngadto sa atong mag-uuma.”
Dir. Alicia Rose D. Nebreja shared that one of ATI’s goal is to be felt in the grassroots level. She said, “With you as LSA, kaya natin to, we will improve our visibility at the community level.” “Without you (LSA), extension is not complete.” she added. Dir. Nebreja also discussed the different opportunities as accredited LSA, not only the financial support but also the other opportunities like capability enhancement and training proposal grants. She ended her inspirational message with a quote, “The greatest impact of knowledge is when it is implied and shared.”
Then, Ms. Mylen Corpuz-Espinosa, LSA Focal Person, presented and discussed the Duties and Responsibilities as Accredited LSA. After such, was the open forum to address some issues and concerns of the LSAs that were present.
The most awaited awarding of Certificate of LSA and ceremonial signing of MOA then followed. The activity was successfully conducted last May 16, 2019 held at ATI – Training Hall, Balintawak, Pagadian City.
