Pagadian City - Once again the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center IX (ATI-RTC IX) joins the collaborative efforts of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) together with the 53rd Infantry Battalion (IB) in the conduct of Psycho-social and Values Formation Activity. This is a 3-day activity for the 39 former rebels in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, who decided to abandon the armed struggle and expressed their desire to be mainstreamed with society as productive citizens.
Through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), these former rebels will benefit the programs of the government and will be able to start a new life and be reintegrated with their family and the community. They will be extended with various assistance like livelihood or income generating project and financial assistance for the surrender of their firearms.
Partner agencies were invited to share brief orientation on the programs and services they are offering and what can they avail. Ms. Neddie M. Jumawan, D.R. Dev., Assistant Center Director represented ATI in the said orientation. She presented some activities in the 2019 Work and Financial Plan that could be suited for the participants.
Among ATI, the following agencies were PhilHealth, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Education (DepEd), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Provincial Agriculture’s Office (PAO). Support from the partner agencies will eventually make these former rebels lay down their arms and contribute towards genuine peace and development in the province.
The activity was held last March 5-7, 2019 at Balay Bisaya, Provincial Government Center, Dao, Pagadian City.
