FREE SEMINAR ON CACAO REACH ANTIQUEÑOS

SAN JOSE, Antique - True to its mandate to deliver excellent extension services beyond boundaries, ATI Region 6 brings the Free Seminar on Cacao Production and Management with Hands-on Demonstration on Asexual Propagation in the Province of Antique on October 30, 2019 at Robinson’s Place Antique.

More than 50 Cacao Growers and Enthusiasts listened attentively and participated actively during the discussion proper. The invited speakers were Dr. Antonino N. Alacapa, retired Agriculturist of ATI Region 6, and Mr. Anthony Borcillo, Farm Worker II of Office of the Provincial Agriculturist – Antique. The former presented the overview on Cacao Industry in the country with highlights in Antique while the latter comprehensively discussed the cultural management and demonstrated different cacao asexual propagation techniques.

During the open forum, the participants asked for some advice in curing cacao diseases, production yield techniques, availability of cacao seedlings, among others. Some of them received free cacao seedlings and Access Magazine in the raffle draw game after the seminar proper.

This free seminar is a monthly undertaking that is highly-supported by Dr. Eden DLR. Baustista, Center Director, to give farmers all over the region the opportunity to gain knowledge on various agricultural technologies.
