BANGA, Aklan - A tree growing activity participated by ATI employees, Polo Brgy Council and the participants of the Pagkabaeaka sa Kagueangan, Kabukiran, Kaeanasan ag Katunggan (4Ks) Program was held. A total of 300 fruit trees to include Marang and timber trees such as Acacia, Narra, Banyan and Talisay were planted along the Aklan River of Brgy. Polo, Banga, Aklan
Brgy. Polo was chosen as site for the tree growing as per recommendation of DENR-PENRO Aklan due to the severity of soil erosion along the riverbanks. Further, the Municipality of Banga was among the 6 partner municipalities that will implement the 4Ks program.
Planting materials were provided by DENR-PENRO Aklan, one of the partner agency in the implementation of 4Ks program. The program aims to plant and grow 20,000 trees in five years.
Meanwhile, tree growing is a regular activity of ATI-RTC VI as a component of its program in Strengthening the AFE Stakeholders’ Capacity in Climate Change Resiliency.
