CADIZ CITY, Negros Occidental - Fifty participants composed of Cacao growers, farmers, AEWs and other stakeholder were registered and actively participated during the Free Seminar on Cacao Asexual Propagation conducted last August 30, 2019 at Farmer’s Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center – City Agriculture Office, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The free seminar include the topic on Cacao Production with focus on Asexual Propagation. These were discussed and demonstrated by Engr. Victor C. Silarde, JVP Cacao Industry from Pototan, Iloilo.

Through return demonstration, the participants were able to experience the actual process of cleft grafting, one of the most common method used in asexual propagation.

Some questions were raised on how to propagate cacao and how to prevent pests and diseases during the forum.

This free seminar aims to equip the participants with knowledge and skills on cacao production and asexual propagation and to create awareness on cacao industry and its economic opportunities.
